Ellen graduated from University College London with a first class honours degree in Classics before pursuing a Masters in Music Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she specialised in Early Music.
She has since been in great demand throughout the country as both a harpist and singer and has performed in some of Britain's top concert venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, St. John Smith's Square, St. Martin-in-the-Fields where she was also a choral scholar, Cheltenham Festival, Leeds Town Hall and Birmingham's Symphony Hall under such conductors as Sir Andrew Davis, Pierre Boulez and Sir Simon Rattle. As a former member of the BBC Symphony Chorus she has often performed at the BBC Proms, including the Last Night of the Proms.
Weddings
Having specially chosen music performed live can make an enormous difference to a wedding ceremony, be it a civil or church marriage, as it adds a personal touch. Ellen usually plays for a short period before the ceremony whilst guests are being seated, then for the Arrival of the Bride, the signing of the Register and the final procession of the Bridal party and guests. Functions
Ellen plays for an increasing number of functions, both private and corporate. She has entertained guests in their hundreds in some of England's finest hotels but is equally at home performing for intimate soirees. Launch parties, Christmas parties, birthday parties, retirement parties, cocktail parties, charity receptions, christenings, funerals …Ellen has even played her harp in the middle of a field for a surprise Teddy Bear's Picnic!
